FABRICATION OF «ROYAL CLIPPER»

In 1999, CJSC «BARS» fulfilled an order, submitted by a Dutch company, on the fabrication of aluminum sailyards with machinery and tooling for the world»s largest sailing vessel «RoyalClipper», 133.2 m length.

  A technologically complex work had to be executed in a very short period of time - sixty days. There was developed a technology and special equipment that allowsed to minimize welding deformations on the entire length of the 24 meter sailyards, having an internal cavity for sails, and a large number of transverse stiffeners.

  All sixteen sailyards, weighing 16800 kg, were delivered to the customer without any delay, due to contractual terms.
